The Roof Space roof tents are the first self-supporting roof tents on the market. The suspension bridge principle, with integrated steel cables in the aluminum frame, supports the unfolded tent without additional props. What this means for everyday family life: If the children run into or knock over the ladder while playing, nothing happens – the tent remains standing. (The ladder still stays attached, it provides additional security and is the way up.)
Open both sides of the tent and the sleeping area transforms into an airy rooftop terrace with panoramic views – a favorite feature for many families. Rainy day? Play inside, with a view. Hot summer night? With the Panoramic Screen (our custom-fit mosquito net), you can sleep with an open panorama, completely mosquito-proof. Fresh air for the children, peaceful sleep for the parents.
Every family knows it: The car boot is full before the holiday even begins. With the Roof Space 4, the whole family's sleeping bags, blankets, and pillows simply stay in the folded tent (+15 cm storage space at the head, +30 cm at the foot end). This means the children's bike, the wagon equipment, and the cool box can actually still fit in the car. And if space is still tight: L-Track airline rails can be mounted on the closed aluminium case – for canoes, bicycles, or extra luggage on top.
With the optional Premium Comfort Mattress, the firmness of the mattress can be individually adjusted – each side exactly as the person likes it. The mattress cover is removable and washable, just like our custom-fit Comfort Sheet fitted sheet made of cotton. So if cocoa spills during breakfast in bed: into the washing machine, no drama. The integrated anti-condensation mat and 360° ventilation ensure that it never gets stuffy or damp at night – even with four people sleeping in the tent.
Rain on the autobahn, dust on the gravel track – the robust 100% aluminum case with dust and waterproof seal keeps everything out. Fold it up, drive off, without a second thought. With a case height of only 24 cm, the tent is also so aerodynamic that the additional fuel consumption is a moderate 0.5–1.5 liters. And if you like, you can use the closed case at a rest stop as spontaneous seating with a view.

The Roof Space is the result of over 12,000 hours of development – rethought from the first to the last screw. We tested it under the most extreme conditions: 20 days of continuous rain, 40 °C in Namibia, in the snow of Alaska, and in force 8 winds on the North Sea. So, if your most demanding test case is a "children's birthday party in a tent," you're on the safe side.

In principle, children of all ages can sleep in the roof tent as long as a parent is present. The self-supporting construction, the sturdy telescopic ladder, and the lockable entrances ensure safety. Many families in our community travel with babies and toddlers. Important: Toddlers should only use the ladder when accompanied.
The Roof Space 4 requires a dynamic roof load of at least 100 kg and at least two crossbars with 1.20 m spacing (three bars are optimal). Many station wagons, SUVs, vans, and buses meet these requirements. The approved roof load can be found in your vehicle's manual – or simply ask our support.
Yes. The sleeping area of 250 × 215 cm is larger than a king-size bed. Two adults plus two to three children can sleep comfortably – and there's still room for the dog.
Nothing. The Roof Space is cantilevered – the aluminum frame with integrated steel cables supports the tent using the suspension bridge principle, even without a ladder. Nevertheless, the ladder should always remain extended as it offers additional stability and is used for entry and exit.
Yes. With the Thermo inner tent (insulated down to -5 °C) and an optionally connected auxiliary heater, it stays warm even on cold nights. The 360° ventilation prevents condensation.
The telescopic ladder (260 cm, optional 320 cm) is non-slip, and the tent and exit are illuminated via the integrated, dimmable LED light strip – no fumbling for a flashlight.
Under 2 minutes – by one person, with one hand. All bedding remains in the tent when folded. So you're ready to go in just a few minutes, even if you spontaneously want to change locations.

The Roof Space 2
2–3 people, 155 cm sleeping width, 67 kg: the right choice for couples with a small child – or if your car only has a 75 kg roof load capacity. This means it fits on significantly more vehicles, including compact cars.
The Roof Space 4
4–5 people, 215 cm sleeping width, 90 kg: this is the family roof tent for anyone with two or more children – or anyone who simply loves space. It requires a dynamic roof load of at least 100 kg. The good news: family cars – estates, SUVs, vans, and buses – often meet this requirement.
